Update v4 - MAJOR UPDATE


After looking over feedback and further playtesting since I released this yesterday, I've made significant changes and updates to the game to balance and scale things out a bit more!

  • Damage and Benefit Scaling for Weapons, Spells, and Scriptures 
    • Static damage for weapons is now modified with the PC's Might (MT) stat! Damage for a weapon can be modified with up to +5 
    • Damage and Benefit values determined for Spells and Scriptures are now modified with the PC's Reason (RN) and Charm (CH) stat respectively! Damage and Benefit values can be modified up to +5
  • Equipment, Tools, and Services updates
    • Damage for each weapon listed indicates to add their MT modifier to its damage 
    • Changed the name of the Axe to the Great Axe so it matches its damage output in terms of flavor
    • Wielding a Great Axe prevents you from wielding a shield implying that it is a heavy two-handed weapon
    • Updated the Potion to indicate it has 3 use
  • Rules of the Game updates
    • Indicated that rolling a Natural 1 automatically fails ability checks
    • Provided an example of rolling a Great Success on an ability check
    • Knocked Down and Dying section has been updated for more clarity
      • Being knocked now only allows you to Attack and Use Items instead
      • Indicated that being Knocked Down also means you are bleeding out indicating that you need assistance from somebody to fully recover from being knocked down
      • The number of rounds being Knocked Down has been modified to be at 2 + MT to alleviate characters that have a -1 MT
    • The Resting section has been updated to indicate resting in the Wilderness and in Towns requires it to be done overnight to gain its benefits
    • The Spells and Scriptures section: the first bullet has been re-written for further clarity
  • Foes and Fiends updates
    • The monster creation system has been completely redone to scale better with higher-level characters and make them more dangerous overall
      • Rolled monster HP adds 1/3rd of the Number of the Highest Level PC in the party
      • Static Monster damage adds 1/4th of the Number of the Highest Level PC in the party
    • Updated headers for Monster tables
    • Indicated to roll 2d12 Four times for Special Abilities if you are making an Elite Monster
